How to Participate in the UCAIug 2019 IEC 61850 IOP in Charlotte, NC!

The UCA International Users Group is once again hosting an interoperability test for IEC 61850 devices.  The objective of the test is to demonstrate interoperability between devices and also to focus on finding and addressing potential source of issues between devices.  This is the second time that this test is going to be held in the United States and provides an excellent opportunity for North American based utilities to attend and see firsthand the performance of IEC 61850 devices and their interoperability with other vendors’ products.  If your company currently uses or plans to use IEC 61850 devices in the near future this is a perfect opportunity to see firsthand how well these devices perform and to learn about the technology from the people responsible for developing the standard and the products.

There are three categories of participation:  Vendor, Witness and Training Boot Camp

Vendor Category

This group consists of companies that provide IEC 61850 devices or tools.  They will play an active role in the actual testing at IOP with their products.  Click the appropriate category to register as a participating vendor. The prices are based upon attendees staying at the IOP hotel. 

Then register the appropriate number of rooms at the IOP hotel: New Orleans Downtown Marriot at the Convention Center.

Please plan for setup on October 14th.

Witness Category

This group consists of people primarily from end user organizations such as utilities.  They will monitor and record results from the tests that they witness.  Click the appropriate category to register as a participating vendor.

Then register the appropriate number of rooms at the IOP hotel: New Orleans Downtown Marriot at the Convention Center.

Please plan to be available for a meeting in the afternoon of October 14th at the hotel.  More details will be provided later.

Training Boot Camp (October 13-14, 2017)

The Boot Camp is a two day training session for people interested in learning more about IEC 61850.  It is open to all interested individuals.  If you are interested in being a witness but are not familiar with IEC 61850 this training is for you.  The course will cover the necessary components of IEC 61850 to allow you to be an effective witness.  If you just want to learn more about IEC 61850 you can also attend.  You are not required to be a witness to attend the Boot Camp.
